I used to think being hard on myself was normal.

Like most people, I thought that inner voice — sharp, impatient, relentless — was just how you talk to yourself.

But over time, it made me feel small.

I stopped taking risks, avoided things I cared about, and talked myself out of the life I actually wanted.

How we speak to ourselves becomes the world we live in.

As Robin Williams once said, ‘No matter what people tell you… words and ideas can change the world.’

That includes the world inside your own mind.

The way you talk to yourself — especially when no one’s listening — shapes your mood, your energy, your focus, your confidence.
