I knew something was wrong when I wouldn’t brush my teeth without scrolling through Instagram or have dinner without watching another episode of “Suits”.

I felt ashamed admitting I was no longer in control of my habits. My addiction to my phone and the instant dopamine rush had me firmly in its grasp.

The Lost Art of Simplicity

In our digital age, we find ourselves drowning in a sea of excess — excess information, excess distractions, and excess noise. It’s no surprise that our attention spans have dwindled to that of a goldfish.

Our devices have become the antithesis of simplicity, bombarding us with a stream of notifications and demands for our attention. The very devices designed to enhance our lives now threaten our productivity.

We are familiar with the rush of dopamine that floods our brains as we check our social media updates, or email notifications.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and reward. It’s the sensation we experience when we savour a delicious meal or share a heartfelt moment with loved ones.
