A Freelancer I Spoke to Says She Has Hit Her Freedom Sweet Spot. I’m Not That Sure.

Don’t get me wrong.

I do think freedom exists. But what kind of freedom are we talking about? Financial freedom? Away-from-cubicle freedom? Or the ability to do whatever we want when we want it?

Context matters.

I met a freelance timesheet analyst at the co-working space I patronize frequently many weeks ago. We bumped into each other many times at the pantry. Being me, I reached out, said hi, and we started talking.

She shared her version of freedom sweet spot with me.

And she was proud of attaining it.

Yes, I was happy for her.

100%.

There are many unhappy people at work. I was. Occasionally, I am. The workplace can be a maelstrom of unnecessary stress and abusive relationships. I ask no questions when colleagues or friends fire their bosses.

Why not?

Our final line of patience has been breached.

The time to exit is long overdue.

From this point onwards, circumstances and fate divide the unfortunate into 2 main groups.
