Blessings of the Queen of the Night
An ordinary evening turned extraordinary, all thanks to the mystical allure of the Queen of the Night’s fragrance.
Some Days ago, I felt heavy in my chest. there was this familiar yet untraceable feeling of an unknown pain. It felt as if a ball was stuck in my throat, and my head was fizzy for no reason.
Too much had happened back to back that I could not put my finger on what actually was the perpetrator, or maybe they all added up together and attacked my head. Can’t say!
It was around 9 PM. I had just finished tutoring two students online, and my mental and physical reserves depleted to the last ounce. I could hardly muster the energy to move my eyes when my father unexpectedly announced, “I’m heading to the pharmacy to pick up some meds. Does anyone want to join me?”
The pharmacy is a daunting 25-minute walk from our house. The mere thought of dragging myself that far made me feel queasy. Yet, my sister expressed her desire to accompany him, and she didn’t want to go alone. She cajoled me into joining her, and with a heavy heart, I agreed.
I grabbed my shawl, donned my boots, and mentally prepared myself for the ordeal.
