Hard Times
Poetical Reminders
So things have been quite tough recently
We have all been tested and tried in our decency
Life seems to have stood still whilst rushing ahead
It no longer matters who did what, and what was said
People are dying and being born all at once
Seconds blur into minutes blur into days and into months
Despite this pandemic we live on and pray for a better tomorrow
The horrors of reality still linger as we watch our screens in sorrow
Still no gathering, no seeing family or friends, no traveling
As rules are broken there comes heavy sanctioning
We must remain indoors to keep the harm at bay
But it’s so hard just getting through another day
We are all in this moment together
Let’s all help and get through this and treasure
The blessings we do have and time we have left
To make the most of this insular test
That we might eventually find some peace and rest.
