Our culture is spinning at an excessive speed. Between morning and night, detritus is littered across the nation and we have no other option but to feel dirty. Dirty from the smog that descends upon us in the form of hate speech and xenophobic attitudes. Dusty like the ash from a country smoldering. Stained by the blood of the innocent.

Each day is a challenge in and of itself. From the pandemic to systemic racism to a political landscape that looks more like an Abbott and Costello sketch. Now, more than ever, you need to learn how to give yourself a metaphorical bath.

Put your phone down. Turn all sound off.

Look at yourself in a mirror. Ask yourself who you are. How can you be clean again if you don’t know who you are? Are you part of the problem or part of the solution? Can you be cleansed?

Turn on the cold water. Put your head under the faucet. 10 seconds of time.

Look at yourself in a mirror. Who are you? Who do you want to be tomorrow? If you weren’t who you wanted to be today, can you take one small step toward who you want to be tomorrow? Breathe.
