When I was first diagnosed with cancer in July of 2023 I was 6 ft 1 and weighed 197 lb.

This is not a grossly obese weight, though obviously I was somewhat overweight. What it was that was a shock to me was my weight dropped 36 lb and I found that my blood pressure which had been high for over a decade had become normal. Then my a1c3 (sugar numbers in my diabetes) had also become normal. All those years of re struggling with diet and exercise it never simply occurred to me that losing 36 pounds would have changed everything.

Ultimately you might say that getting cancer saved my life. if not for the cancer there’s a good chance I would have ended up with organ failure losing a couple of Limbs to diabetic gangrene and having major Strokes so I did have three small Strokes after my heart attack in December of 2024. with all this in mind I thought it might be nice to visit the idea of obesity again and had to deal with it and one of my newsletters
