We travel through time backwards. In addition…

Our past (the gray line) is shaped by every choice we make in the current moment.

We spend most of our time focused on the past and our guesses about the future timelines.

We can also see the current moment, but few of us pay enough attention to it.

Based on our observations about the past and guesses about future timelines we make choices about which path to take in the future. These choices are either conscious or unconscious. Regardless, our choices are based on a probabilistic assessment of where that path may lead.

The other possible paths fade away, although not completely. They become our regretful missed opportunities (the top half) and our thankful-that-didn’t-happen-to-me moments (bottom half).

The red zone represents the most probable scenarios resulting from our choices, also referred to as our comfort zone.

The blue zone represents probable, but not likely outcomes from our choices. Things we could achieve (top portion) or unfortunate circumstances (bottom half). It’s more than likely these things won’t happen because it takes a lot of energy and luck to make them so.
