I am much calmer and more at peace with myself and the world since I started to meditate.

Being calmer makes me more thoughtful, caring of others and less prone to anger.

Above all, it is the feeling that I know and understand myself better, which makes it easier to guide myself and make better decisions, which I love. I don’t seem to think much harder than before, but I naturally behave in ways that produce better results.

What I mean by better results is that I enjoy what I do and feel proud of my achievements, which is life-enhancing.

The Measure of the Degree of Change

Before I became a regular meditator, I often felt anxious, even a bit timid. I was also prone to having low expectations of my performance — you might say I had a negative mindset. I would even try to avoid situations where I thought I might fail.

Now, I feel more confident without making any conscious effort to change, and my general approach is more positive.
