I Never Thought I’d Take Yoga Teacher Training…and Then I Did

That little voice inside wouldn’t go away.

For two whole years, a little voice inside me said,
“Take yoga teacher training, Christine.”

Guess what I would say.
“No way! It’s not for me! Stop bugging me, small voice within!”

Well, I finally did it. (That’s one of the reasons you haven’t heard as much from me lately.) In late 2021 I signed up and completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training certification. Not necessarily to teach yoga in a studio, but to deepen my own practice and to add its valuable wisdom and skills to the coaching and writing I already offer.

I got thinking, some of my readers may have had a similar thought.
That’s why I’m posting this piece. I rarely share links to products, but this one made such an impact on my life that I want to share it with others.

It’s still TBD how I put my certification to use. Maybe you’ll see some online classes later in the year. But for now it was a wonderful way to enhance my own practice, weave wisdom into the work I already do, and on top of that I made some new lifelong friends.

Like most things the past 2 years, COVID shifted teacher training access. Not to worry, the universe did its work, and I crossed paths with a group that moved its in-person training to an online format.

I admit, I was hesitant to take online yoga teacher training. Would it feel personal enough? Would it go deep enough? Would it touch on the physical practice as well as the spiritual?

The answer to all my concerns was YES! I got one-on-one attention from the teachers, I made terrific friends, and I felt completely supported the entire process.

The Happy Jack Yoga team has trained yogis for years. (In the past, the process would involve a month in India.)

If it’s important to you, Jack and his team train Tony Robbins and teach from the stage at Tony Robbins events. That’s cool, but that didn’t sway me. I just liked that it’s a down to earth, authentic training. No one pretends to be perfect. You can move along the course at your own pace. And like you and me, they are constantly learning.

If you’ve ever considered taking yoga teacher training, or if it’s on your list of goals for 2022, Happy Jack has their next 200 hour yoga teacher certification course starting THIS SUNDAY January 9th, 2022.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. That little voice inside may be nudging you too!
