It’s Time to Break the Cycle Once and For All
Stop trying to replace people.
So, someone significant left your life and you’re heartbroken. You decide you never needed them in the first place and try to fill the void by latching onto the first person you can get your hands on.
This new person is your replacement for the last person that hurt you.
At first you’ll probably feel comforted because you’re back to doing what feels familiar to you. You’ve willingly stuck yourself back into the same situation that left you in tears. I always find it so interesting how some of us would rather get hurt a billion times if it means doing what we’re used to rather than just stepping out of our comfort zone and breaking the cycle once and for all.
I’m not judging you at all — how can I when I used to do the same thing?
It’s hard to shut something down for good. It takes a lot of inner strength and confidence to tell yourself, “No, no more.” But it is necessary for growth.
Most of the time when people leave our lives, it’s because they were meant to teach us something. There are many people who were meant to make an appearance in your life, but not stay in your life.
Life is death, it’s all about rebirth and transitions.
You will never be able to transition into a better version of yourself if you keep living in the past. When you make the vow to replace someone you’re basically saying, “I bet I can get a better outcome if I try it with someone else.” This will seem like a great idea in the moment but sooner or later you’ll realize, the situation will never work because it’s not meant for you.
If you keep putting yourself back in the same situation without changing your ways, the same outcome is bound to happen. You have to reflect and see what about yourself needs tweaking for you to be successful in whatever it is you’re trying to achieve.
Everyone has a purpose in life and everyone that walks into your life is there for a reason. They are meant to help you grow by either gifting you with their unconditional love or by bringing out the toxicity within you so that you can fix it and become a better you.
