Jim Carrey’s Winning Formula in Life

“Fear is going to be a player in your life, but you get to decide how much”

Jim Carrey’s life is a tale of two halves.

First, there was the fame and fortune, glitz and glamour, ridiculous and raucous, sexy and sublime.

Then, there has been the silence and stillness, spirituality and solitude, contemplative and courageous, reflective and raw.

Perhaps, that’s why he said: “I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it’s not the answer.”

Siddhartha Guatama shared a similar message. He renounced his luxurious royal upbringing to become a monk and search for a deeper meaning in life. And at the age of 35, he sat under a Bodhi tree and became enlightened.

He was then referred to as Gautama the Buddha — the enlightened one — from there on in.

So, whether it comes from Jim Carrey or the Buddha, it doesn’t really matter. Throughout history, all of the greats have said the same thing.

Here’s Jim Carrey’s take:

“You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love”
