Look Inside Yourself
The answers to all of your questions are held within…
“The universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; everything that you want, you already are..” (Rumi)
All too often we think that we have to search for answers outside of ourselves. Looking hard to find the meaning of life through work, relationships and hobbies. What we forget to acknowledge is that finding oneself can only be achieved by looking inwards not outwards. We are not lost souls, we have a body and a mind and consciousness therefore we exist in the world.
Our most authentic selves are buried underneath lifelong conditioning endured at the hands of others. Our beliefs about who we are is heavily influenced by other peoples opinions of us and how we were raised culturally. It is from this conditioning that we drew inaccurate conclusions as children about who we are and dragged these often unhealthy views into adulthood. This is not the accurate reality of our souls.
To uncover our true identities we must reverse the damage done by others over time and unlearn certain things we believe to be facts or the truth. To unlearn and re-program our lives not to the meet others expectations of us but to live according to what is important to us. To have our own vision for life. To be able to know and accept that we are enough despite any negative messages received externally. We have always been present but forgot to reassess ourselves once we became adults and therefore never challenged the harmful beliefs we swallowed as children about ourselves.
“Ignore those that make you fearful and sad, that degrade you back towards disease and death.” (Rumi)
We need to return to our original selves the one that existed before other people told us who we are. The pure version of us that is unsullied by the world and its misery. Think back to a time when you were free, remember who you were before the world got its hands on you. Start the process by working backwards through time. It will come to you, you will remember and you will be you again. Just trust in your own intuition to guide you.
“There is a candle in your heart, ready to be kindled.
There is a void in your soul, ready to be filled.
You feel it, don’t you?” (Rumi)
