Metamorphosis: Becoming of a Mother

Graduation from the Fourth Trimester

I first held Savera on April 25th, 2023 — that has changed my life ever since. As we celebrate her 3 months on this planet, I wanted to acknowledge a whole new person that was born with her: me, as a mother.

I would like to begin by expressing my deepest gratitude to Savera: for allowing me to become a mother. She has been so loving, patient, resilient, and courageous throughout- its incredible! This partnership with her is SO beautiful and I do not want it any other way. Savera, thank you for trusting me with your life. Universe, thank you for trusting me with Savera.

They are spot on when they say — no one can prepare you for motherhood. A friend told me — Just like every other individual, your child is unique and no one has written a book on yours. Given what I knew of myself, I was pretty confident that I’ll be able to mother my kid from the get go until I… couldn’t. Welcome to the fourth trimester: the most confusing… yet intuitive, challenging… yet fun, overwhelming… yet joyous, and boring… yet busy time I have experienced in my life.
