My client screamed at me yesterday.

I understand why so. The delivery team screwed up a software domain migration project. Long story short, we had to roll back the current progress and recover lost time.

Veron was unimpressed.

Her hollow came straight at my face when my face appeared on our Teams meeting. I did not have the chance to say hello. Veron’s admonishment was the conversation starter.

It was [obviously] unpleasant.

And I knew [exactly] why she lost her cool.

Beyond the skin-deep

In life and at work, 2 levels of reasoning dictate our behaviors.

I know this sounds like buffoonery, but it is not. Hear me out.

There are many skin-deep reasons why people lose their cool in the workplace. You know many of them. Missed deadlines. A report they forgot. Incessant harassment from needy auditors. A clueless boss. So on, so forth.
