Nick the Surface

Not long ago a friend gave me some hibiscus seeds to plant. I had to do an internet search to learn how to best grow them. All the articles began with the same first step. Make a nick or scratch in the outer coating of the seeds to allow water to be absorbed so that the seeds can germinate.

This quickly became a metaphor for me.

Growth isn’t going to happen if you have a hard shell.
