On Travelling Solo
The meaning of expansion:
A thing formed by the enlargement or broadening of something:
“the book is an expansion of a lecture given last year”
There are three words I find interesting here: Thing, book, and expansion. I would liken the thing to people, books to our lives, and expansion to our minds. We are organisms. We are stories. And, we are — if enabled — an expansive universe of possibilities.
If we look at ourselves as beings, we have reconstructed the world numerous times. Our civilisations, frequently, have been recrafted into a vision best suited for the people of that era. This is all thanks to individuals over the years whom secured their places in history.
Not only did they create stories, but they were also stories: mammoth books that would take decades to read. Their minds were also something to behold. To summon such ideas into reality, they would’ve had to expand their minds to their limits.
This takes dedication and strength. This takes a weighty load of focus; one eye off the ball and we can lose it. To hone in on expanding our minds, it is mandatory to feed it the energy (curiosity) needed for doing so.
