When thinking about health, people tend to focus on nutrition, exercise, and getting enough sleep.

These are crucial components of health and will make a huge difference in terms of keeping you able-bodied, and most likely to remain free of disease.

There is one other major aspect of health, though, that is just as important as getting at least 7 hours of sleep every night, being mindful to eat healthfully, and exercising for at least 30 minutes every day.

Experiencing this on a regular basis wreaks havoc on our health, physical and mental. It can shorten your lifespan and lead to all sorts of diseases and health problems.

So, what is it?

Here’s how stress affects your body

When your body feels stressed, your muscles automatically tense up.

Chronic stress causes muscles in your body to be in a more or less constant state of guardedness. And when muscles are tense for long periods, this can trigger other reactions in the body and even promote stress-related disorders, a double whammy.
