Picking a word to inspire and guide has picked up steam in recent years. People see it as a way to add meaning and purpose to their lives.
In January, I see all kinds of social media posts highlighting what their word is for the year.
And then guess what happens?
After that initial post, I rarely see updates on how that word is playing out in their lives throughout the year, and I definitely don’t see an end of the year reflection in December.
You know how I know this?
Because I’m guilty as charged. The last few years I have picked a word and then promptly forgotten it. I definitely didn’t let it inspire, guide, or add purpose to my life.
