Opinion: Joe Biden’s Pardon Of His Son Exemplifies What Forgiveness Is About — YOU
So many times we have heard people say that forgiveness is a gift to yourself. They talk about how it frees you because you no longer carry the weight of someone else’s actions.
President Joseph Biden’s pardon of his son, Hunter, is a true example of forgiveness as a gift to yourself.
A pardon is essentially forgiveness for the wrong criminal act a person committed.
President Biden is an aging man, which is why Democrats asked him to drop out of the election. Why age himself further in his well-deserved retirement by having the stress of his son being incarcerated?
By pardoning, or forgiving, his son, President Biden gifted himself a peaceful retirement where he doesn’t have the stress of dealing with his son being incarcerated. Incarceration can be a painful experience for all parties.
Why trigger himself by essentially losing another son when he has already grieved the death of his son, Beau? Recall, then-Vice President Biden did not run for President in 2016 because he was still grieving Beau’s passing.
So, while the pardon saves Hunter from being incarcerated, it saves President Biden from undue hardship and gifts him with some peace to not further any aging, health, or…
