People-Pleasing Is Selfish But How Do We Stop?

On this personal growth journey, I have had several wake-up calls, or hard truths hit me like a two-by-four. One of them was this: My people-pleasing tendencies were actually rooted in selfishness rather than the “good place” I originally had thought.

My attempts to people please weren’t coming from the perspective of wanting to genuinely help someone, but to make myself feel better…
