Do you like or despise rainy days?

I was in my mid-30s before I appreciated a rainy day. My daughter gets most of the credit for changing my perspective.

Before her, I mostly thought the rain was a nuisance.

She has shown me that walking in the rain with your favorite boots can be a newfound joy you didn’t realize you needed. Twirling an umbrella can feel like dancing when the clouds are pouring.

No doubt I have her contagious joy to attribute to my affection for rainy days now. But there are some very good reasons why the rain is scientifically good for you too that may change your perspective.

Your brain relaxes when it rains.

It’s true.

Do you find yourself a little more at ease when it’s raining outside?

This morning driving my kids to school I found myself yawning more than usual as it drizzled down my driver-side window.
