And how to refill your cup in healthy ways
The New Year can be an exciting time of intention-setting and renewed sense of purpose, but it can also be a time of scattered energy and anxiety about what’s ahead. I want to start this year off with reflections that will empower you to make healthier choices in your relationships, your career, your personal and spiritual life.
What’s been coming up in my lived experience lately is the feeling of being energetically drained, especially after an intense holiday season. If you’re feeling similarly, here’s five reasons you could be drained, and a few ways to refill the proverbial well.
You’re pouring your energy into misaligned ventures
This can sound abstract, but it’s very grounded. It feels draining to pour our time, resources, attention, and intention into things that aren’t personally aligned. You might think “Well, duh. That’s a no-brainer.” But as humans, we do this constantly.
We stay in jobs that stagnate us and don’t contribute to our expansion or growth. We try to create something zeitgeisty (books, clothes, etc.) rather than create from the pure inspiration in our hearts. We hold on to relationships because we’ve been in them for so long or they feel so comfortable…
