The Genius of Atomic Actions Keep me Sane at Work
Here’s how it works
At 22 years of age, I started my second ever job in January.
I had a boss I had to report to. The work got easier over time. Yet, I couldn’t be satisfied. The monotonous grind shift of the work didn’t let me be at peace with it.
Until I realized that I had a different view on work.
- Wrong View #1: Work gives you Meaning
The work does not give you meaning.
The idea of a job being this almighty place where all your wishes come true and you find true happiness is some solid Willy-Wonka BS.
In fact, you have to be good first, then give meaning to good.
Hence, you give meaning to your work.
Eventually, you will find satisfaction and happiness.
- Wrong View #2: I will never be good at this job.
I wanted to quit mine on the first day, on the second, and on the third.
Over time, my ability to adapt to this new environment grew. I got better at doing the work. I felt competent.
So many times what we think is our limitation is just us not doing the given work long enough.
