Two years back, I finished the book Can’t Hurt Me by Goggins, and I was all pumped to get my shit together.

I started a challenge of the 4:00 am club — to run and hit the gym. Even though I failed the challenge, for the first time, I pushed myself beyond my limits.

Then I wondered, is this possible? A human can push himself even when tired, in hard times, and lost. Fast forwarding, with consistent practice to push when it’s time, it has become second nature to me.

In this blog, I’ll teach you one tool that David wrote in his book to beat the odds.

You must be prepared for the things out there

What does it mean?

Suppose you’re tired, feeling lonely, the self-doubt kicks in, your partner leaves you — what do you do? Normally, you go into autopilot mode and give in.

That’s what David said, when you know these things can come, you should be fucking prepared:

  • Why are you doing this?
  • What is driving you toward this achievement?
  • Where does the darkness you’re using as fuel come from?
  • What has calloused your mind?

You’ll need to have those answers at your fingertips when you hit a wall of pain and doubt.

So, you can go all in.

I’ve been using this tool for years. Whenever I feel like giving up, I pause and think straight, and the next moment — I’m up, working on my shit.

It’s crucial to be equipped first, then to get lost in the battle.
