The Moment Things Began to Change On My Spiritual Journey
It was 10 am.
I had just finished my morning meditation and was heading back to the main house to have some breakfast.
As I arrived, I noticed a young family sitting in the longue. We shared a smile before I helped myself to a simple buffet of fruits, yoghurt, and granola.
I was curious to meet new people so I asked if I could sit next to them. As we got chatting, I learned that they were travelling from the U.S. to South America looking for communities to share breathwork.
I had taken a few breathwork classes before that and loved them so I was keen to find out more. Instead of explaining the whole technique, they invited me to breathe with them after my breakfast had digested.
About an hour later, I grabbed a yoga mat, a blanket, and some water and headed to the platform overlooking the lake.
After a short explanation, I was invited to lie down and prepare for the music to start. Once the music had started, I began breathing in a rhythm for about 40 breaths.
At the end of the first round, I was told to exhale all the air outside my lungs and hold my breath.
