You can use it behind your low back when sitting at your desk, driving in a car, or sitting to rest or meditate.
You can lie down and place the crescent part behind your neck to help with neck pain or headaches. You can lie your back on the flat part for back or shoulder pain. You can use it under your feet for plantar fasciitis or to stimulate reflexology points.
At first the spikes may feel pretty prickly, but you get used to them quickly. Place a cloth or t-shirt between you and the pillow if you find it too intense.
Let me explain how it works.
The small spikes create a sensation that competes with the pain signals traveling to your brain. You sense the spikes rather than the pain, and you break the body/brain loop that constitutes chronic pain. Your brain begins to focus on the spikes instead of that pesky headache at the top of your neck or ache in your back.
I find after I’m done lying on the pillow for about 20 minutes I’ve broken that cycle and and feel much better for the rest of the day.
