It’s hard enough for most people to stay hydrated, but the temperatures of the water you drink has both pros and cons regarding your health and wellbeing.

Have you ever noticed those smart Asian folks drink several cups of boiling water instead of the cold stuff?

In traditional Chinese medicine, it’s been said that cold water with warm food creates an imbalance.

Drinking cold water also contracts your stomach, making it harder to digest food after a meal.

It sounds like they know how to prepare their bodies for the incoming throws of lunch!

It’s now starting to make more sense why this tradition is so prevalent in many cultures.

In Ayurvedic principles, drinking cold water is a very big “no.”

Coldwater decreases digestive function (hello to anyone who has gut issues here). The correct terminology is that it waters down our Agni — the powers of digestive fire.
