What Makes One an Introvert?
An explanation and a test
The 2nd of January is World Introvert Day. It’s a day to stay at home and recharge after the busy holiday season.
I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about introversion and where it comes from. Then, you can take a small quiz to determine if you’re one.
Most of my knowledge comes from my own experiences and the book ‘The Introvert Advantage’ by Marti Olsen Laney.
This post is not just for introverts, but for everyone to see that both extroversion and introversion have their predefined skills, advantages, and disadvantages.
In our extroverted world, a lot of people still praise extroverted characteristics and fight against introverted ones. I know I did growing up.
I thought (and that belief came from the external world) I was strange because I was not loud. I could never be successful because I was shy, quiet, and nervous when speaking in a group of people.
But I was always ambitious, so when I was 13, I went to therapy to work on my shyness. And again, when I was 17, to get into the university I wanted.
Realizing I’m an introvert and that isn’t a bad thing in my 20s was the best thing that happened to me. And that’s the reason why I’m writing to you…
