“Empathy is about standing in someone else’s shoes, feeling with his or her heart, seeing with his or her eyes. Not only is empathy hard to outsource and automate, but it makes the world a better place.” — Daniel Pink, analyst and author

Dr. Susan Stillman, the Global Director of Education at Six Seconds, echoes Dan Pink’s words on empathy. In this insightful talk, she highlights the depth of our emotional intelligence and reasons how empathy could help us advance social progress. In this brief interview, she explains that we often think of empathy is “walking in others’ shoes,” but it’s much more — it’s a process of connecting. It’s not just one way; empathy means valuing and understanding be it people, animals or even your natural surroundings.
