perhaps synchronicity
now one does their part
still, one cannot account for
free will’s butterfly effect
that’s another side of chance
double-down soft sixteen into a six
every result remains possible
player pulls a prince
dealer reveals ten in the hole
player's heart races with drumbeats of hope
dashed when dealer pulls a five
played the odds correctly
just didn’t work out
chance has nothing to do with luck
the latter — there’s no such force in nature
just a human concoction for cause and effect among chaos
as bunk as their karma
rather than accepting they lack control
