I am a person who experiences dreams on a nightly basis. These dreams very often inspire me to create something.

I do not enjoy remembering my dreams. Many dreams contain what may be disturbing premonitions. I always wonder if what I have seen in my sleep realm is going to come true in some way.

A couple of years ago I had a vision while sleeping. It lasted about ten seconds. It was a dark street with one street lamp flickering. The sidewalk was dampened. A man stumbled out of the glum doorway of a dark bar. I didn’t see his face, I just saw his backside. He began walking, tripping down the street. There the vision ceased.

When I awakened, I could not get this vision out of my mind. When this happens, I need to write about it in order to clear the vision from my sight. Below is the poem I wrote as a response to this vision

I have learned through years of dreams, visions, and premonitions that nothing is accidental. Everything we experience is meant to be and there is a reason for every situation and event (which does not mean the reasons are pleasant). I no longer believe in coincidence — actually, that’s not true — I fell back on the wrong definition — the dictionary defines coincidences as occurrences that do result from cause and effect but those are not physically apparent.

  • What all of this means in the grand scheme of our lives and this universe, I do not know but what I know for sure there is a reason and a reason that is meant to teach us something. The key is channeling into the universe and allowing our spirit to receive the message.

Thank you to Marcus aka Gregory Maidman for this wonderful publication.

Thank you for reading.
