A recent update to Whatsapp’s privacy policy leaves its users with two choices: either share your data with Facebook or delete your account. According to an in-app notification, users of the Facebook-owned messaging service need to accept the new terms by February 8, 2021, which is when they are due to take effect, or not accept them, “if they would prefer to delete their account.”

The update comes at a time when Facebook and WhatsApp are already facing a backlash against their data collection practices. …

Zhong Shanshan, who’s often described as the man who turned water into gold, was born in 1954 in China’s Hangzhou. Forced to drop out of primary school amid the cultural revolution of China, Zhong spent almost a decade doing various laboring jobs.

He later got a degree and subsequently a job in journalism. At 34, Zhong quit his job to start his own newspaper which unfortunately didn’t work out. He ended up burning all his savings on the venture.

In 1996, Zhong turned his attention to the bottled water market and has never looked back. Nongfu Spring was launched in Zhong’s hometown with the goal of selling natural mineral water bottled from local water sources. …

When eBay purchased PayPal in 2002 for $1.5 billion, Musk, who was the company’s largest shareholder with 11.7% of PayPal’s shares, made $180 million from the sale. “My proceeds from the PayPal acquisition were $180 million. I put $100 million in SpaceX, $70m in Tesla, and $10m in Solar City. I had to borrow money for rent,” says Musk.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk now has a net worth of $195 billion, or $10 billion more than Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, who has held the number 1 spot for over three years. In other words, Elon Musk has overtaken Bezos to become the world’s richest person, thanks to another 4.8% …

From Snapchat to Instagram, to Twitter, and now Spotify? It doesn’t even make sense anymore. And I can’t help but imagine what’s next — maybe we could watch people unboxing their packages on Amazon stories. Or speaking out their resumes on Linkedin, or maybe read pick-up lines on Tinder?

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with the world?

And I don't know if it’s already true, but, in the end, I believe, most users will anyhow prefer to stick with multiple apps. Where each app is known for its one specific and most distinctive feature. …
