Coming off the excitement of BI Madness, we have high hopes for the Baseball Visualization Challenge. After just a few days, we have a half dozen submissions and our first topic for discussion.

Defining Infographics

There is no rule that says an infographic needs to contain numbers. That still may be the expectation. So far, just one of the submissions has been numberless.

The DKNG baseball poster submitted earlier today focuses on some the major rules and aspects of baseball. It is packed with information. It does not include any statistics, graphs, or charts.

So is it all about the numbers?

The poster infographic is in stark contrast to an earlier entry by BballFan155. We would like to thank BballFan155 for the inspiration for this article and also, remind people to post their favorite infographics (don’t message them).

So is it a numbers game? Baseball clearly is, but do infographics need to have numbers to be truly inspiring or helpful. What about an infographic about a numbers game?

The Game Continues…
