As its name suggests, Chat.Chat is a social messaging platform integrated with a multi-currency cryptocurrency wallet and the Mini Dapp Platform, enabling functions such as Chat Pay and a decentralized application browser. This means that you’ll be able to perform most of your daily cryptocurrency management within a single app, be it transferring cryptocurrency to your friends, checking on your balances or making purchases. Chat.Chat is developed by an experienced and growing team based in Singapore.

1. Secure Messaging
Chat.Chat’s encrypted messenger is built on a highly secure protocol which secures all messages, images and shared documents within both individual and group conversations with end-to-end encryption. Users can explore a wide range of useful features, including:
Guest Room
Want to invite a friend to test out Chat.Chat, create a temporary group for upcoming events or just need a quick discussion? Guest rooms in Chat.Chat extend end-to-end encryption to conversations with external parties without requiring them to register or download a thing, and last for 24 hours so they won’t clog up your chat logs.
Voice and video messages
Chat.Chat lets you record and trim voice and video clips directly within the app and easily send them as messages in any chat. Great for when you need to express ideas quickly and vividly.
Timed messages
Timed messages are perfect for sharing brief updates and notices (such as an announcement about an event happening in a couple of hours) that will automatically delete themselves from all conversation histories for tidy chats, saving space on your device.
Sharing sensitive information through timed messages also help reduce the risk of your personal data being leaked.
Timers can be set for between 10 seconds to four weeks for any chat item — text, pictures, videos, links, documents and even reaction pings.
Edit and delete
Made a typo or sent a message to the wrong chat? You can opt to edit messages that you’ve already sent or delete your messages for everyone. You can also delete messages you don’t want to see, such as shaky GIFs, from your own devices only.
Embedded multimedia content
Sometimes words just don’t cut it — Chat.Chat lets you send GIFs to chats.
Message reactions
Pings add a fun and interactive layer to chats, and you can like messages to show your friends how much you agree.
Annotated images
Need to emphasize something in an image or screenshot? You can now doodle on any image before sending it out in a chat!
Security audits will be conducted and released for Chat.Chat soon. Additionally, its code will be open sourced to provide transparency and assurance for users.
2. Cryptocurrency Wallet & Chat Pay
If you’ve ever transferred cryptocurrencies, you probably know what it feels like to check a long string of random numbers and letters (addresses) while worrying that you accidentally made a typo.
By allowing users to bind cryptocurrency wallets to their usernames, Chat.Chat eliminates the need to repeatedly deal with addresses, keys and signatures. Instead, once users have set up their wallet, they can make one-tap transfers to their friends within chats, so users can always be sure exactly who receives the payment. Chat Pay also provides real-time conversion rates and the ability to leave a note, and all transactions can be verified on the blockchain.
As more apps and dapps are added to the Mini Dapp Platform, Chat.Chat will introduce more payment functions such as in e-commerce marketplaces.
3. Mini Dapp Platform
Chat.Chat’s Mini Dapp Platform provides access to third-party applications and decentralized applications without weighing down your mobile device.
- Applications can refer to either traditional centralized apps (think accessing a game through Facebook), or “decentralized apps”, i.e. applications built to run on a blockchain.
- “Mini” refers to the lightweight design methodology. Users don’t have to download a separate app for each service they would like to access (e.g. multiple gaming and lifestyle apps), saving space and keeping their mobile devices clutter-free.
For example, the Memo mini-dapp allows users to access and use the Memo social networking site from within Chat.Chat. And since Memo is based on Bitcoin Cash, Chat.Chat’s wallet automatically handles cryptocurrency-related functions such as tipping.
Additionally, Chat.Chat eliminates the need to register for separate accounts on every app. Instead, the wallet inherently serves as a unique identifier for each user, allowing Chat.Chat to handle all account-related information so that users can frictionlessly access any mini-app of their choice.
The Mini Dapp platform currently supports BCH and BTC-based dapps. Integration with the EOS and Ethereum blockchains is also being planned for release.
