Chatterbox Gamers, Assemble!
We’re excited to announce that soon after we’ve secured our recent funding round, we’ve pulled together our core team. It’s great to have everyone on board, in our shiny new office, all focused on innovating in the world of Messenger games.
Samir Hadi joins us as Creative Director. Previously from Wooga, he led creative and development efforts on the Apple Watch. Previously acting as Lead Developer for projects including Bubble Island. Samir is a rare breed of part designer — part developer, both with the ability to design great mechanics, and execute on them in game. With a focus on build small, fast games that are instantly fun, we are excited to have Samir on board!
Jeremy Kool joins us as Art Director. Previously from Wooga, he has led art efforts across a number of casual games including Max Ammo. Besides his accomplishments at Wooga, Jeremy is an active artist in the Berlin community, releasing games such as “Paper Fox” and “Good Night Little Foresters”. Two beautiful games that show off his talents for creating distinct art styles.
Tobias Wermuth as Game Developer. Previously from Wooga, he was handling the creation of backend service tools used across live games like Warlords and June’s Journey. While he’s a backend engineer by trade, he’s acting as a full stack engineer. Working on our backend, chat bots, gameplay, and user experience. Toby is a developer during the day, but his alter-ego is an improv actor by night.
Per Sommer as Technical Director. Previously from GameDuell and Born05, he has had years of experience building HTML5-based games and applications. He has a passion for web technology, games, and pushing the edge of what’s possible in HTML5. Leading our tech, Per is waiting for when HTML5 is so good he can finally start running VR games with HTML5.
Adam Telfer as CPO. Previously from Wooga, Electronic Arts, and XMG Studio. Adam is also a regular contributor to Deconstructor Of Fun and owner of Mobile Free To Play.com, two industry leading blogs discussing free-to-play. Adam previously acted as Game Lead at Wooga, and Head of Games at XMG Studio.
Antti Hattara as CEO. Previously from Wooga and Digital Chocolate. Antti was Head of Studio at Wooga, leading their “Pocket” studio as Wooga’s first initiatives on mobile. While at Wooga, Antti launched Pocket Village, Jelly Splash, and Max Ammo. Antti has been working in casual games since 2004, and probably has beaten more levels in Candy Crush than you.
Besides the core team, we’ve also moved into our shiny new office space in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin! Right across the street from our favourite Späti. We’re excited to add to the already vibrant gaming community of Berlin. We’re working just down the street from our friends at Wooga and Softgames.
Now that everyone is on board, we finally can start playing 4 player local multiplayer on the Nintendo Switch. It could be considered team building, but we tend to be very competitive. Our neighbours are already concerned about all the yelling…
