Live footage of me having an epiphany — I learned during my vaction that another seasonal shift is on the way for me.

We have made a recent shift in seasons; from summer to fall. This looks like temperatures dropping, leaves changing colors, nighttime coming faster and certain flavors coming back for a limited time. With that being said, as humans, we have seasons too. Our seasonal changes don’t look quite the same as a temperature decline or limited time flavors returning BUT we go through our own seasonal changes. There is an excerpt in Ecclesiastes chapter 3 that states:

“(3) a time to kill and a time to heal ; a time to break down, and a time to build up; (4) A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; (5) A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing (6) A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; (7) A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; (8) A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Now, our seasonal changes look more like what those bible verses are speaking of. For illustration, a time to heal/ time to break down can correlate to a romantic mishap. A time to weep/ time to mourn can equate to death or the ending of something. A time to embrace/ a time to refrain from embracing can coordinate to staying single as it is not time for a relationship, and a time to get/ time to lose can correspond to jobs, just to shed light on a few. All of our seasonal changes look different but there is always one common theme which is a time to build up. A seasonal shift is always going to be designed for evaluation and advancement. Here’s the thing though, we must learn from our current season in order to capitalize on the advancement in our next season. In layman’s terms, I am saying we need to learn from our incompetent moments, so we can be victorious. I know I am not the only one who has grown weary with having “repeat seasons.” We normally experience this when we didn’t learn our lesson in the previous season. For illustration, spending irresponsibly but begging to be put in a better financial position, still hanging around that group of people who contribute to nothing but low vibrations in your life, staying in that relationship that is mentally taxing, or staying at that job just because you’re afraid to leave your comfort zone. All these things can lead to a repeat season if you are not making the changes that need to be made. A word of advice, get comfortable with self-reflection. When you have an “off” season, it helps to know where YOU messed up at, as we can contribute to our own demise. If we are reflecting on our actions, we will ultimately handle things differently than we did before. Handling things differently is what makes us victorious. Now, here me when I say things will get thrown at us that we have no control over. We cannot always control the situations we are put in, but we can control how we choose to handle them.

Lastly, we need to be mindful of our own actions and behaviors throughout these seasons. Meaning: please don’t think that you are going to be rewarded if you are demonstrating behaviors such as deception, disrespect, infidelity, etc. No one ever gets accolades from exhibiting foul behavior. All in all, I just want to bring awareness to season shifts and what contributes to them. This life is full of lessons so we must be teachable, and we must be capable of controlling ourselves. Toxic behavior and refusal to learn have never been a winning combo. Let’s set ourselves up for success so we can be victorious. Let’s not put ourselves in the position to have a “off” season or a “repeat” season. Let us learn and apply what we’ve learned and let us be mindful of our actions. LET US WIN.

Let the changes begin.
