Post Malone’s December 9th, 2016 y Republic Records released album Stoney s been a huge hit with the hip-hop community. Post Malone is a white 22-year-old rapper who has braids and is not the best looking but presents to the media that he does not care what others think and he is just going to live his life. Post Malone’s real name is Austin Post. Most people believe that Post Malone only cared about drugs and alcohol but listening and understanding this album has showed me that he is much more than an everyday rapper in this generation. The record label he signed with is Republic records in 2015 and his music is already a huge hit.

Stoney includes 18 different songs that all have the same kind of chill vibe. It takes up 68 minutes of time to listen to the entire album. Post Malone’s first Stoney hit was “White Iverson”. Which was the first song released out of 18. After, “White Iverson” everyone wanted to hear more and to see what Post Malone was all about. Post Malone became huge to this generation is because his songs are easy to relate to and he does not care what others think. His album Stoney talks about a lot of struggle as well as accomplishments throughout his life. Post Malone talks about a lot of struggles like his relationships, drug use, drinking alcohol, death and etc. He also talks about the blessings in his life too and how his life is so great now. There is a lot of things a listener finds out about Post Malone while listening to this album that typically a listener did not know before. Stoney has a lot of catchy songs and lyrics too that a listener just wants to hear over and over again. Stoney features guest appearances from Justin Bieber, Kehlani, Quavo and 2 Chains.

Post Malone’s first song on this track is “Broken Whiskey Glass” which has a slow sad vibe to the song but it sounds like it talks about drugs but it’s actually about him being grateful for his successful upcoming music career. It also brings up his big first hit “White Iverson” which he brings up a lot though this album. The second song is called “Big Lie” which explains that Post Malone actually quit smoking marijuana even though his album is called Stoney. He only smoke cigarettes now which listening to these album listeners would think he is a hard core stoner. This song is a little bit more upbeat then the rest of his songs. His third song in this track is “Déjà vu” Featuring Justin Bieber which makes it have a more pop feel to this song. This song actually brings up Post Malone’s relationship with his girlfriend and the early stages of falling in love. “No Option” is about Post Malone living his life lavishly which it is upbeat the chorus repeats itself. “Cold” is his next song in this track and it shows off Post Malone’s cocky side. He talks about how his Jewelry is very important to him especially his grills and watches.

“White Iverson” is his big song that first came out. He explains on Twitter this song is about all his swag and confidence which is not a bad thing to have. The next song is called “I Fall Apart” which was another big hit in this album. It’s about falling in love with his ex and her breaking his heart. This song seems sad but it’s very catchy. “Patient” is the next song and it’s about his high school self. Not a lot of people liked him in high school but now everyone wants to be his friend because he is famous. “Go Flex” is his next big hit on this album it’s about him “flexing” which means showing off. The song “Feel” features Kehlani and the song is all about sex. The song “Too Young” is about how a lot of Post Malone’s friends passed away and they were all pretty young. He just explains in this song that he wants to live his life to the fullest.

Quavo is featured in Post Malone’s next song “Congratulations” which explains Post Malone’s process of becoming famous. This song has a vibe of celebrating.

Overall, most of Stoney’s songs have a slow chill vibe to them with a few exceptions. They tell a bunch of stories that the younger generation can relate too and I believe that’s why this album is so popular.
