1. Dil Chahta Hai

The 2001 blockbuster, shot in Goa, Mumbai and Sydney, still connects to the young audience big time. First hour into the movie and you tell yourself, “This weekend I am off to Goa” and you might even text your buddies about it. It beautifully covered the serene beauty of Australia and Goa…. It keeps hitting on your brain to go and set free to these locations.

2. Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani

YJHD is yet another blockbuster movie shot in some of the most stunning locations of Himachal, Rajasthan and France. Though the movie doesn’t take you to a visual feast on these locations, but surely makes you believe that, just like a journey our life too is full of pleasant and not so pleasant surprises and if we learn to take all that in our stride, we will surely have a fulfilling life.

3. Queen

From Delhi street food, to France and Amsterdam…. The movie is a sole visual delight. The whole idea of traveling as a way to liberate oneself from the shackles of our own imaginary limitations is best portrayed in Queen. Solo travelers of both genders would find this movie amazingly uplifting.

4. HIGHWAY

As the name suggests, the movie is shot on deserted roads, nondescript towns and on a whole landscape of breathtaking locations. The film takes you to a trip of mixed emotions through deserted roads of Delhi to mountains of Himachal and Kashmir and the plains of Rajasthan and Haryana. Must watch if you feel a need to reinvent yourself.

If you have watched this movie, I bet you would have definitely related to one of the four lead characters played by the actors in the movie. Looking at various adventure sports like scuba diving, sky diving or bull running, you think to yourself, “Dammit, if not now, then when?” SPAIN it is ……..

The whole idea of shooting the movie in some of the breathtaking locations is so integral to the plot of the movie that you fall in love with the movie, the characters and the locations all at the same time. Along with Shimla and Manali in Himachal Pradesh, the movie also shows some amazing view of the Rohtang Pass.

The most adorable movies of all times… Barfi. You get to see the most exquisite and still highly unexplored locations of Darjeeling, West Bengal and some parts of Ooty as well.
