New York City is such a great city that doing only one article about it wasn’t just enough! So here we have yet again, the 8 good movies shot in New York City!

1. Sex and the City -2008

The women community in the whole world was the fan of this ‘fabulous’ TV Series. Then things got better and the creators of Sex and the City made a movie about it. Just like before, the canvas was New York City and the four ladies painted it red with their hilarious stories, dialogues and fashion! The fabulous locations from the Big Apple include, 66 Perry Street and Bleecker Street as Carrie’s Old Apartment in Manhattan.

Carrie’s New Apartment could be seen on 1030 5th Avenue and East 84th Street. One amazing and highlighted location was Samantha’s Office is located on Broadway and West 47th Street!

2. Goodfellas-1990

This amazing movie based on a true story showcases friendship and crime in an impeccable way! To add a real character to the film was New York City! Martin Scorsese can never go wrong with New York City. I think we have established this, by now. George Washington Bridge is magnificent in the movie. There are also scenes showing Copacabana nightclub in East Manhattan in the kitchen scene and the tracking shot. Henry Hill’s House in the movie is located in Astoria, in Queens!

3. Independence Day-1996

Will Smith at his absolute best! There isn’t one person who didn’t love this awesome movie. The main reason behind this awesomeness were the locations in New York City! One just cannot miss the Empire State Building in the movie! It is located on 350 5th Avenue and West 34th Street, Manhattan.

Wall Street and William Street as the Financial Districts in Manhattan also add to the awesomeness of the movie. These are the elements which have made the movie so edgy!

4. Friends with Benefits-2011

A tale of friendship and love, filled with loads of humor and some other interesting things as well!*Wink* Friends with Benefits opened up pathways to a new genre of romance, which is decorated with friendship. New York City was the third lead character in the movie after Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake. 50 Rockefeller Plaza, 5th Avenue in Manhattan is used as the GQ Magazine Headquarters. Big Cinemas where Jamie(Mila Kunis) is waiting for her boyfriend is between second & third Avenue. The amazing flash mob where Dylan(Justin Timberlake) is convinced for living in New York City is obviously Times Square!

The fabulous climax at Grand Central Terminal was the perfect end to a perfect movie!

5. Salt-2010

The world was convinced that Angelina Jolie in a movie is the formula for a great one! The exceptional scenes in the movie such as the Vice President’s parade and funeral were shot in Park Avenue & St Bartholomew’s Church in Manhattan. The Queensboro Bridge between Manhattan and Queens leaves people in awe!

6. The Usual Suspects- 1995

A gripping story of five criminals and their heist left the world wanting more of such stories! New York City was just the location, Usual Suspects could have asked for! The law offices in the movie are located in the Flatiron Building on 175th Avenue. Also, the New York’s finest Taxi Service scenes are located in Jackson Heights in Queens!

7. Spiderman-2002

Spiderman was everyone’s favorite Superhero in early 2000s! The reason was the actors, the action scenes and New York City obviously. There was no better city to shoot all the thrilling scenes in the movie! During the course of the film we see Queensboro Bridge in Manhattan, Columbia University on Broadway and 116 Street! The Daily Bugle’s shots are courtesy of the Faltiron Building on 175th Avenue in Manhattan!

8. Catch Me if You Can-2002

Steven Spielberg and Leonardo Di Caprio is a great combination! Every movie-nut in the world is aware of this fact. One gem of a movie this combination along with the great Tom Hanks presented, was Catch Me if You Can! The movie has a cult following, thanks to the catchy title, the con-man story and the good locations. The Metlife Building which contributes to the New York City skyline is located on 200 Park Avenue and East 44th Street. The Abagnale Apartment is in Buena Vista Avenue in Yonkers. Park Avenue contributes a great deal to the movie as well!
