What is Stress?

Stress Can Be Measured:

A person’s level of stress can be measured by the physical and emotional indicators that the person experiences at the time of stress.

These indicators include rates of heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension, breathing patterns, and brainwave patterns.

We Have Our Own Measuring System — Feelings:

Most of us don’t need any machines or tests to know that we are stressed. We feel it. We become angry, confused, depressed.

Some people get easily excited, or talkative, and have trouble shutting themselves off to go to sleep at night.

Others, stop working and retreat to take a nap or sleep longer periods of time.

Emotional Eating and many other addictions are caused by stress.

The result is that stress affects us all in different ways

Some Common Causes Of Stress:

Stress can be caused by many things in life — including overwork, worries about various aspects of life, or even everyday activities like taking care of a loved one.

Stress can also be the result of negative thoughts

that are constantly on a person’s mind.

Some Ways To Relieve Stress:

There are many ways to relieve stress — whether it’s through exercise or meditation. There are also many different types of less conventional methods for relieving stress that may help you in your journey to wellness.

Stress Affects Your Creative Process:

In our modern world, we are constantly being bombarded with information. Our mind has to work at a faster pace in order to keep up with everything that is going on. We are connected to the internet and our phones too much.

Stress is a part of the creative process. When you’re under stress, your cognitive functioning can become impaired and that can affect your creativity and its quality.

If you’re experiencing stress, it means you’re

working hard and putting effort into what you do.

Creative people have been dealing

with stress since the beginning of time.

They need to be able to work under pressure

and come up with unique ideas at a rapid pace.

Solutions to Help you Get in Flow State:

Not everyone is good at writing.

Some people struggle to get in the flow state,

some might even completely stop writing.

There are many things you can do and use, to help you get in flow. You can conquer writer’s block.

1) Keep your mind clear by exercising regularly

2) Write every day

3) Set a timer for 10 minutes

Final Thoughts:

There are many stress management techniques for anxiety and depression sufferers. Some of these include — mindfulness, setting goals for the day, taking time off when needed.

Try to avoid social media when you are feeling overwhelmed. Plan your day and try to participate in activities that you enjoy.

Every writer has a different process with their creativity. There are many ways for writers to become creative with their writing — find what works for you.

Creativity is the most important thing for writers so they can write good content. Once you are able to let your creativity flow, you will be able to write more easily.
