Why do Muslims Not Eat Pork?

This question brings up a very important issue. Well, as we know, in every culture you can find food that is taboo. In western societies, there are certain foods that are taboo, such as meat from horses, dogs and cats. However, in some parts of east Asia these are not considered taboo. To some Indian Hindus, cow meat is a taboo due to their belief that the cow is a holy animal. And in the UAE and Soudi , pork is taboo based on Islamic laws like in many other Arab nations.

The prohibition of pork in Islam is derived from the following verse of the Qur’an:

“Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah.”

[Al-Qur’an 5:3]

I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden for anyone who wants to eat unless it is carrion, outpoured blood and the flesh of swine, all of which is unclean

The main reason pork is forbidden for Muslims is because it says in the Holy Quran that some food is allowed, while others are declared haram, which means forbidden and pork is one of those forbidden foods.
