Internet Trends 2018: Checkr has vetted over 15 million on-demand applicants in four years
Among the most highly anticipated technology reports each year, Mary Meeker’s Internet Trends 2018 is here today and features Checkr as a major enabler of the gig economy. Specifically, Meeker notes that Checkr helped companies hire more than 15 million on-demand workers in the last four years.
This year’s report notes that there’s been tremendous growth in on-demand and internet-enabled jobs, especially among workers who want extra income and have underutilized skills or assets. Increasingly, this type of work is a driver of the overall economy at a time when U.S. unemployment has reached near 20-year lows. Other recent studies have shown that nearly all of the new jobs created since 2005 have been flexible or contingent work.
The Internet Trends report has a wealth of new relevant data on the evolving internet and gig economy — we encourage you to check out the slide deck in its entirety at http://www.kpcb.com/internet-trends.
