“Life… *after* The Singularity.”

— Imagine, if you can, what life might be like in the far future.

“The singularity is near”, or so some say…

Computers will be more powerful than brains. Brains will be downloaded onto or directly connected to machines. And then what?

By definition, we can’t, nowhere near accurately, answer that question. That’s why it’s called a singularity.

“The technological singularity is an occurrence beyond which events may become unpredictable, unfavorable, or even unfathomable.”

But that shouldn’t stop us from letting our imagination run wild with theories!

If all brains are connected to machines, and machines connected through the Internet, will all human brains be directly connected to one another? That could be great to replace messaging apps… BUT will that translate into a single human consciousness? And what about animal brains? A single planetary consciousness?

Does travelling at the speed of light become possible? Simply beam your brain data to a distant biological/mechanical being and continue going about your day. (leaving aside the question of what is the self…)

What other fascinating and weird outcomes can you imagine?

P.S. Isn’t this exciting? According to some, only a few decades left until we get our questions answered. Yay Moore’s law and all of its derivatives!
