— Buses for the homeless

Retrofit old buses with beds to provide shelter for the homeless.

Today’s idea from Anonymous! In his words:

I read this NYTimes article — Hotel 22 — and thought, “wait!”

If the cost of housing and land is limiting shelter for the homeless, why not move beyond land and buildings?

I bet there are many old, working, but out-of-service buses. Replace the seats with beds. Add heating — boom! Elastic supply of safe, warm places for homeless people to sleep at night.

I see vehicles as liquid real estate, think of food trucks and ambulances. They are mini-kitchens and hospitals. I am excited about this prospect.
