The one where we talk about Season Two.
So it’s definitely been a while. Incredibly, at the time of writing this, the price of ada is actually UP since I last posted… Don’t all look at once!
While there’s no question the markets have cooled down a bit, the Cheeky Unts have continued to truck along. The Swanky Unts Club has done precisely what it set out to do, rewarding our holders with free NFTs while simultaneously introducing the Cheeky Unts brand to other great CNFT projects like H.Y.P.E. Skulls, aeoniumsky, and Happy Hoppers Club. Our Discord server is more fun than ever, with credit going to some awesome new partnerships and an overall influx of new community members. And all along the way we’ve continued to raise money for great causes with the help of all you awesome unts!
But what you see is only a fraction of what’s going on. We’re working on the Cheeky Unts as often as we can and we’re well on track with our roadmap (and then some). So I hope you enjoy this edition of Unts in a While, where I’ll be diving into everything that happened since the last update, and giving you an exclusive preview of our plans for a Utility Token and Season Two.

Defining our Ecosystem
I won’t leave you hanging too long after dropping phrases like utility token and season two. That said, I do want to quickly take a step back and reframe our thought process behind it all.
The Cheeky Unts project has grown into more than a fundraiser. Like a lot of NFT projects, we’re building a brand more than anything. Different brands mean different things to different people, and people will interact with those brands for many reasons. Cheeky Unts is no exception — there are several elements within our ecosystem, and we’ll continue to build around them moving forward.
- Gaming: If you’re a gamer, all I’ll say is we’ve got stuff in store for you! While third parties power the current games being hosted in our community, our first Cheeky Unts web-based game “Skate Unt” is currently in development. We intend to continue to create games and build a Cheeky Unts Arcade. There’ll be free-to-play, own-to-play, and pay-to-play versions of our games with weekly leaderboards and prizes to be won.
- Collecting: We have some collectors among us! People collect just about anything, whether as an investment, for their own enjoyment, or both. Just collecting Pokémon cards doesn’t mean you have to play with them. Unts are the same in this respect.
- Community: This is where our communication channels (Discord, Twitter, etc.) come into play. We’ll continue using them for cheeky banter, events, giveaways, and more.
- Metaverse: We’ll be releasing Cheeky Unts 3D models in late 2022 so that you can run around in the metaverse dressed up as an unt!
- Merchandise: For the super fans who are ready to explain to people in real life that their shirt with a pixel art koala and the word “#unts” on it is actually for an NFT project that donates crypto to save animals, this is for you. Rep the unts in the wild!
- Charity: Last but not least. The charity aspect of the Cheeky Unts helps some people connect with the project. Cheeky unts will continue to grow our charity arm and look for more ways to make a real world impact.
Your Cheeky Unts NFTs are your keys to as much or as little of this as you desire. There’s something here for everyone, and we’re going to continue building on the foundation we’ve laid. The interconnection of everything is what gives purpose and value to a utility token, and shows why it’s important to have one in circulation.
Cheeky Unts Utility Token
Since we’re still in the early days of our utility token exploration, we won’t be getting into tokenomics or how the token will actually get into your wallet just yet. Instead, we want to share a high level overview of token utility and what effect the unts you hold today (and in the future) will have on the amount of tokens you’re allocated.
Utility token use case
Our innominate (for now) utility token is meant to enhance your experience within the Cheeky Unts ecosystem. Let’s look at gaming as an example:
- Free-to-play: anyone can play games in our arcade for free (no wallet connection), but they won’t be able to win anything.
- Own-to-play: if you own a Cheeky Unts NFT, you’ll be able to connect your wallet and win basic prizes by playing.
- Pay-to-play: use your utility tokens to enter into our premium leaderboards with guaranteed ada prize pools.
This is just one of many use case examples. Tokens will also be redeemable for future NFT drops, merchandise credits, charitable donations, and more.
Items, items, items
The items on your core season unts are what will determine your allocation of the utility token. Each item will be given a token value based on its rarity, and multipliers will be applied to various unts, such as 1/1 specials, nakeds, and posers. We’ll also look to add multipliers for certain item combinations like BBQ unts (Spatula + BBQ), Waccas unts (Waccas Hat + Fries), Cricket unts (Bat + Ball), and more.
The image below has a few examples of what this could look like, but please keep in mind these are all unofficial figures and are subject to change:
Base unts are still important!
Bunyip and Drop Bear holders fear not! Your uber rares will continue to be some of the most coveted unts out there. Base unt rarity will be maintained when it comes time for things like 3D unts, and owning a rare core season base unt will be advantageous when it comes to future NFT releases.
Season Two: Pub Crawl
If you’re worried you won’t be able to pry a poser out of the diamond-handed holders in the unts community, you’re not alone! The good news is, our next core drop (Season Two) is right around the corner, and it’s going to bring new opportunities for all!
What’s happening in S2?
We’ll be taking our community on a pub crawl to all four corners of the globe! We showcased some of the most iconic Aussie animals, locations, and items in S1, so now it’s time to see what the rest of the world has to offer. And we need help from the community! Leading up to the S2 drop, we’ll be turning to our community to take part in polls, contests, and more to put forward what they want to see in the next generation of Cheeky Unts. Be on the lookout for announcements over the coming weeks to learn how you can participate and win some great prizes!
Drop details
While we’re still ironing out the fine details, but here’s what we can share:
- Art style is our signature 32x32 pixel art format, broken into 10 frames for classic animations.
- 4,444 NFTs will be minted, resulting in a total of 8,888 core season unts in circulation.
- Drop date, mint price & TX/wallet limits are currently TBD.
- Utility includes access to the Cheeky Unts ecosystem, utility token drops, and special benefits relating to future Cheeky Unts releases.
What to look out for in the drop
As mentioned, Season Two is a core Cheeky Unts collection. Here are some of the notable highlights as it relates to unts that are traditionally the most sought after:
- 75 more naked unts will be added, granting holders guaranteed airdrops in future Swanky Unts Club partnerships.
- Poser unts (5+ items) and unts with special item combinations will have multipliers in utility token calculations.
- Unts with rare items will also return more utility tokens.
- Legendary base unts will grant holders special benefits for future Cheeky Unts NFT drops and more.
These are just some examples of the high-value unts you could mint. We have some other ideas up our sleeves to add value for holders of the more “common” unts, so don’t count them out just yet!
Marketing
We’ll be starting a big marketing push soon in support of S2. We’ll be looking to participate in various Twitter Spaces and interviews whenever we can. Securing partnerships with various CNFT communities, DAOs, and more will also be a big focus for us.
Swanky Unts Club
We completed three Swanky Unts Club collaborations in Q1 2022 and feedback was positive all around. Getting the opportunity to partner with great projects like H.Y.P.E. Skulls, aeoniumsky, and Happy Hoppers Club meant a lot to us, and we can’t wait to do more in the future.
The Swanky Unts Club has accomplished exactly what it set out to do:
- We introduced our project to some of the top CNFT communities and saw unique wallets holding Cheeky Unts increase by more than 10%.
- We provided utility to naked unt holders that we had been promising since our original drop back in Q4 2021.
- We ended up raising and donating more than $2,000 to some great causes.
As we shift our focus to Season Two, we’ll be temporarily closing the Swanky Unts Club. It will re-open for business following Season Two, and it’ll be bigger than ever!
Community Update
We announced some changes to our team at the start of March. One of our community’s finest, Digi, has accepted the role of Community Manager. Moving forward, Digi will be focused on maintaining a consistent cadence for our events and other Discord initiatives. This change frees me up to work closer with the core team on our wider marketing and growth initiatives, like our product roadmap and community expansion.

As mentioned earlier in this post, there’s even more to do in our Discord now, so let’s have a look back at what we added in Q1.
Casino operations have expanded
The casino remains one of the most active channels on our Discord server, with unts grinding away to achieve their dreams of one day owning a custom unt. That’s just one aspect of what we’re now calling Brisvegas, which now includes:
- The Racing Club: Made possible by our partnership with Hornnies, you can now race your Cheeky Unts alongside Hornnies and DEADPXLZ on superbull.io. Be sure to grab the Jockey role on Discord to be notified about upcoming races and prizes in our dedicated Discord server channel.
- The Speedway: This is where we host Smash Karts and other browser-based game nights. If you’re a half decent gamer, odds are you can win some prizes here!
- High Scores: This is v0.5 of our arcade and where the games we develop will start to be hosted. While we continue to develop, have a go at our Cheeky Unts Flappy game, Mortal Numbat 2. Last I checked, the high score is 74…
- Auction House: The auction channels were primarily used for our Swanky Unts Club charity auctions, but they’ll start getting used more often for various ad hoc auctions. Proceeds will continue to go to charity!
- Poker: We’ll use the poker channel as our tournaments become more and more frequent. We also might look to add a cash game table or two in the future. When we aren’t hosting Cheeky Unts poker events, we’ll be sharing other games we hear about around the CNFT community!
Unt of the Week (previously “Raider of the Week“)
Given the time since the last Unts in a While post, we have multiple “Raider of the Week” awards to hand out. However, I’ve made the decision to rebrand the award to “Unt of the Week” as it allows us to also showcase unts who have been fostering the kind of environment we want our community to experience. So here they are, your Unt(s) of the Week(s):
PS
PS is one of our OG mods and could probably win Unt of the Week every week for a different reason. He’s always one of the first raiders to the scene and he’s constantly dropping amazing fan art! Congrats PS!
Cryptoflame
If there’s anyone we can count on to be pumping our tires on Twitter, it’s Cryptoflame. This unt is especially helpful when it comes to spreading the word about our SUC collabs! Way to go Cryptoflame!
Actual Nicotine
One of the community’s biggest beauties, Actual Nicotine, has been organizing Hornnies races for the community. They usually take place after he’s had a few beers, and if you know Nicotine you’ll know that means these races happen regularly.
He’s raised the stakes though. If you win, he will paint your PFP in MSPaint (badly) and send it to you as an NFT. Here’s a gallery of some of the recent winners:
