Unfortunately, the title is misleading — at the moment, it is not possible to upload your own images to Chemix and that’s a bit of a bummer. However, all is not lost, there are online tools you can use that are free, should you find yourself needing a piece of equipment not available on Chemix:
We’ll take a look at Canva.
First, draw most of your diagram in Chemix. Then click the Download Image. PNG is recommended as it is transparent, but JPG will work too.
Head over to Canva.com and start a new design. Import the image you’ve created on Chemix, by either uploading it or dragging it onto Canva.
Next, find the image of the apparatus you want to insert.
💡 To find transparent images, click on Tools → Color → Transparent.
Paste it into Canva. Arrange as fit and then download your new image. Done!
Also, consider submitting a request for the apparatus to Chemix using https://chemix.org/ideas. New items are added all the time and chances are your suggestion will be added, helping many users in the future.
