Grey is a successful entrepreneur and author of The Grey Ave Podcast, one of the biggest podcast shows in Africa, where curious minds, entrepreneurs, daredevils, hustlers and problem solvers converge. From many famous figures, he hosted David Orban, Ivan on Tech, Roger Ver, Ed Mylett, Susan Bennet(original voice of Siri), Scott Picken, Crypto Jen,.. Lately he developed an interest in blockchain technology with an aim to help out the people in Africa with it.

Currently, it is a very exciting time to be an entrepreneur in the African region. They have lots of problems to solve and they are now connected to the rest of the world more. A decade ago, he wouldn’t have been able to create a podcast, which allows him to interview some of the greatest minds in the world and expand his perspective.

Africa is the perfect choice to be enterpreneur…

“I’ve always thought that being an entrepreneur, whilst growing up in Africa, isn’t a choice, it’s a need. We have so many problems to solve and this is the most exciting time to be alive to create solutions to our problems. The internet has made the world smaller and faster, we are now more exposed to the rest of the world to trade and exchange ideas. I grew up with an interest in computers and art, which landed me jobs in the film industry and IT. I wasn’t satisfied with that because it felt like I wasn’t solving any problems for the continent until I created a podcast as a tool for learning from some of the greatest minds, not only in my city or country but the rest of the world too. It’s easier to sleep knowing that someone somewhere is listening to my podcast and learning something from it, which could potentially change their life, rather than simulating explosions for movies or building websites to sell junk food.”

Blockchain and Bitcoin in Africa?

“To make a long story short, one of my podcast guests introduced me to Bitcoin and Blockchain. It took me very little time to grasp the concept since it addressed most of the problems I was familiar with as an African. Since then, I decided to shift my focus and activity into the Blockchain space.”

Malawi one of the poorest countries on the planet…

“Growing up in Malawi, one of the poorest countries on the planet. I was exposed to some problems like racketeering and collusion, which are taken for granted in the 1st world. In a country that foreign aid accounts for 28% of the gross national income, you would be surprised to know how much of the funds are mismanaged. This has turned off lots of donors. I used to support a Home for Orphans back in Malawi but I pulled off because it wasn’t clear if the funds were used effectively, there was no transparency, or a means for growth whatsoever and thus, I found it frustrating.”

And what does Grey think of charities?

“Charitable organizations play a big role in Africa, but they lack a technology to make them more transparent, raise and manage funds more efficiently. CHERR.IO is a perfect technology that will address these issues by utilising Blockchain and bring back the trust to the people.”

CHERR.IO would like to welcome Grey Jabesi as part of our amazing team. He will help promote the brand in Africa as well as be present there as a regional ambassador.

When I heard of CHERR.IO, I was excited because I could easily relate to the problems that they’re trying solve. I too was impressed by the technical team behind it”, says Grey.
