My first 4 weeks on Noom

What is Noom?

Noom is a weight loss and wellness program, delivered through an app on your smartphone. Noom focuses on educating users about nutrition and the psychology of eating. It works by creating small, incremental adjustments in behavior. These continuous small changes build new habits for eating and exercising, resulting in weight loss and improved health.

Does Noom work?

It works for me. I lost 4 kg (9 lb) in my first four weeks using Noom.

Noom; the positives

1) Noom methodology is data driven. Its recommendations are based on peer-reviewed scientific studies as well as data from past users. More than 1.5 million people have lost weight using Noom, which means that Noom have a lot of data. They know what works.

The science isn’t always fun. As an example, Noom recommends that users weigh themselves every day. Not because it seems like a good idea — in fact, many dietitians think that daily weigh-ins are unhelpful. Why does Noom recommend it? Because people who weigh themselves every day are more likely to lose weight than people who don’t. The data speaks for itself. Daily weigh-ins = better outcomes. And better outcomes are what Noom wants for its users.
