Björn Nilsen and Max Blome join Cherry’s investment team

It’s a well-known fact that we’re obsessed with founders at Cherry. And when we look to build out our team across Europe, we look for that same founder-centric obsession. With that, we’re so excited to welcome Björn Nilsen and Max Blome to our investment team.

Based in Stockholm, Björn will work alongside partner Sophia Bendz in our offices there scouting the best founding teams in the Nordics and beyond. Prior to joining us, Björn worked at Antler and Heartcore Capital. He joined Antler right at the beginning (as he says, when 1.5 pizzas could be shared amongst the entire team), leaving after it had scaled to over 200 people globally and 200+ companies across its funds. Later, on the investment team at Heartcore, he focused on consumer technology sourcing various investments across Europe.

Born to a Chilean mother and Norwegian father, Björn’s interests are just as far-reaching. The trilingual investor can often be found watching football or cross-country skiing, with some downhill thrown in.

Max will be based in Berlin and is already quite familiar with our team and portfolio as, earlier this year, he successfully completed an internship with us. Before Cherry, Max worked on a consumer sustainability venture for company builder TruVenturo and later joined Moss, one of our portfolio companies, to support their European expansion.

Working across deals, he now spends most of his time on software companies in the mobility, logistics, and proptech space. A former competitive tennis player, you will now find Max hiking, skiing, and climbing in the Alps in his spare time.

In the few weeks since they joined us full-time, Björn and Max have already proven themselves to hustle, be team players, and be true advocates for founders, both inside and outside of our portfolio.
